Soundara Vellan Sornum

Soundara Vellan Sornum was born and grew up in Mauritius and since secondary school he had always the wish of saving the environment whereby he organized as school prefect, debate contests whereby the main themes were mainly on socio economical and environmental aspect of Mauritius.

In 2012, he graduated at the University of Mauritius of a Bachelor in Science in Marine Science and Technology.

Vellan is part of the Eco-Raise Executive team since April 2011 and is currently occupying the post of chief Event organizer. He has also developed an interest in Dialogues, Green Buildings and collaborative partnership, and believes that collaboration and co-learning between different NGOs is the key for a better green tomorrow. He is also a core team member of One Future One Planet Mauritius Community.
